Laura Danielson
Virtual Academy Teacher
Mrs. Danielson graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Minor in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh. After doing some substitute teaching she decided to go back to Pitt to get her Bachelor of Science in Business Education. She has been teaching for about 12 years in the Warren County School District. She currently teaches Computer 6 & 8, and Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Detective/Mystery as well as Social Problems and Teacher & Education Intro through the Virtual Academy.
Jessica McElhaney
Virtual Academy Art Teacher
Mrs. McElhaney graduated with a Masters of Arts in Art Education from Boston University and received her undergraduate training at Edinboro University of PA. She obtained a Bachelor's in Fine Arts and Applied Media Arts Graphic Design and Bachelor's of Science in Art in Education and is certified in K-12 Art Education and K-12 Business, Information, Technology. Mrs. McElhaney has been employed by the Warren County School District since 2008 teaching Art Education, as well as Computer/Business courses to students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Mrs. McElhaney currently teaches Middle School Art Explorations. She is the yearbook and art club advisor and enjoys creating digital and traditional artwork, spending time with my family, and reading.
Michelle Johnson
Physical Education Virtual Academy Teacher
Michelle Johnson graduated from Slippery Rock University with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education and a minor in Adapted Physical Activity & Rehabilitation. She has since earned a Master's in Education from Gannon University. Ms. Johnson has worked in the Warren County School District for 20 years as a Health and PE teacher, Computer/Business Teacher, Track & Field Coach, Volleyball Coach, and Cheer Coach. She has taught VA for the last 4 years. In her free time, Ms. Johnson enjoys watching her kids participate in their sports, spend time with her family and friends, camping, running, and going to concerts/festivals.
Chelsea Burkett
Virtual Academy Teacher
Hi, I am Chelsea Burkett! Before persuing education I attended Seton Hill University and received my BA in Music/Theatre. During my time there I knew I wanted to be a teacher, but also wanted to finish my degree. Immediately after completing undergrad I went to Drexel University to obtain my Master of Science in Teacher, Learning, and Curriculum and my K-6 Teaching Certification. Since completing that program in 2013, I have also added Middle Level Mathematics and K-12 Family Consumer Science teaching certifications. I have been in the Warren County School District for 9 years and teaching for 12. I currently teach in person 7th and 8th grade math and high school Family Consumer Science. I teach the Virtual electives Character Education, Child Development, Life Management Skills, Lie Skills: Navigating Adulthood, Personal & Family Finance, Real World Parenting, and Workplace and Internship Development.
Barbara Vanatta

Mrs. Vanatta graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physics and General Science from Lock Haven University. She has been teaching for over 25 years for Warren County school district, meanwhile attaining additional certifications in Mathematics. Biology and Earth Science, as well as her Masters.
Joseph McClellan
Keyboarding, Coding, and Google Computer Basics Virtual Academy Teacher
I've taught high school for fourteen years and currently supervise the open-ended STEM Lab at the Warren County Career Center. We make videos, create 3D designs, fly drones, and all kinds of other stuff! I like all things tech and watch closely for news about new phones, electric cars, video games and computers. In my spare time I enjoy reading, exercising, and playing with my two kids.
Andrew Pollard
Art Appreciation Virtual Academy Teacher
Mr. Pollard teaches Art Appreciation for the Virtual Academy. He also teaches Art for grades 2-12 at Eisenhower Elementary Middle High School. He spent fifteen years teaching in the district's Gifted Support program. Mr. Pollard is the WCSD Art Curriculum Coordinator.
He attended: Jamestown Community College, LaSalle University, Philadelphia College of Performing Arts, The University of Rhode Island, and Edinboro University. He holds Associative of Arts degrees in Music and Theatre, Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and Elementary Education, a Masters Degree in Vocal Performance, and a Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership. He holds Pennsylvania Teaching Certifications in: Elementary Education K-6 with certificates in English and Social Studies; English 7-12; Art K-12, and Music K-12.
Mr. Pollard lives on a farm with his wife, son, three dogs, and three cats. They have Foundation Morgan Horses, Dexter Cattle, Boer Goats, geese, and Heritage Breeds of chickens. He enjoys working on the farm, training the horses and cattle, playing music, and spending quality time with his family and friends.
Karen Lindell
Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd Grade Virtual Academy Elementary Teacher
Mrs. Lindell graduated from Mercyhurst College with degrees in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education . She also served in the Army Reserves. She has taught in the Warren County School District since 1998. Mrs. Lindell and her family live on a dairy farm. Her favorite times are spent with her son and daughter especially watching them play sports for their school teams.

Mr. Black attended Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Health and Physical Education. For the past twenty-two years, Mr. Black has taught in the Warren County School District. Classes taught include Health 7, Health 9, First Aid and CPR, Outdoor Education, Competitive Sports, Recreational Sports, Strength and Weight Training, and Walking for Personal Fitness.

Mrs. Burns attended St. Vincent College and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. Recently, she earned her certificate in Middle School Language Arts and Social Studies. Mrs. Burns has taught in the Warren County School District for over 20 years. Classes taught include kindergarten, 6th grade, 5th grade, 4th grade, and now Middle School Language Arts and Social Studies.

Charles Hayes IV
Science Virtual Academy High School Teacher
Mr. Hayes attended Ohio University and studied Forensic Chemistry, Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and graduated with a Bachelor of Sciences in Secondary Education: Chemistry and Walden University earning a Master’s of Education in Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment. Mr. Hayes teaches Chemistry, Environmental Science, and Earth & Space Science in Warren County School District, including College in High School Chemistry through the University of Pitt at Bradford, and Chemistry, Earth & Space Science, and Astronomy for the Warren County Cyber School: Virtual Academy. He is also advisor for his school’s Envirothon and JETS science competition teams. Mr. Hayes is proud to be one of many passionate teachers in his family.

She has also obtained a master’s degree from Gannon University in Curriculum and Instruction. Mrs. Linkerhof has been employed by the Warren County School District since 2007 teaching Health, Physical Education, as well as Computer/Business courses to students in kindergarten through 12th grade. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, 4wheeler riding, and hunting. Mrs. Linkerhof has a passion for PE and feels she has one of the "best jobs in the world".

Let me share a little bit about myself. I have been teaching students for just over 26 years. The last 23 ½ years have been with Warren County School District. I specialize in Social Studies, which have a plethora of courses. My responsibilities with Warren Virtual Academy have me over see course such as; Government, Civics, Economics, U.S. History (1 and 2), World History, Geography, Middle School Social Studies, Psychology, Forensics, and History of the Holocaust.
I graduated from Penn State University with a BS in Education. Spent a short period of time teaching in Maryland until I secured a job with WCSD. Coaching high school football takes up most of my time away from school. I have enjoyed the world of coaching for the past 15 years.

I have worked in education for 25 years and have certifications in Elementary Education, middle level and secondary Social Studies, secondary English, Educational Leadership, Curriculum & Instruction, and Instructional Design & Technology. The Warren County School District Virtual Academy is a vision I created and became part of 11 years ago that I am extremely proud of to see what it has grown into today.
Virtual Academy Services works with Pennsylvania public school districts to provide virtual learning opportunities K-12. VAS has an excellent team of teachers that are eager to work with students. This is an online, collaborative, and standards-based learning environment. Students are able to have flexibility in their schedule if needed and work with teachers in both synchronous and asynchronous formats. We provide a variety of options from full-time, part-time, and custom scheduling opportunities. Virtual Academy Services offers a multitude of course levels ranging from Credit Recovery to Honors and College Prep.
